JOB OVERVIEW

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of QA Automation Consultant (Tosca/SAP).

Reporting to the Manager, IT Product Delivery, this position is for Intermediate/Senior QA Automation Developer with strong experience in Tricentis Tosca to design, build, and maintain automated test coverage for SAP S/4HANA and related integrations. This role will work closely with SAP functional teams, developers, and integration teams to ensure high-quality releases through scalable automation, risk-based testing, and continuous improvement of QA practices

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test cases using Tricentis Tosca, including modules, test case design, execution lists, and reusable components.
  • Develop and implement scalable automation frameworks, including data-driven and risk-based testing strategies and regression test suites for critical business processes.
  • Execute end-to-end functional testing across SAP S/4HANA environments (Fiori and/or GUI), ensuring alignment to business requirements and release scope.
  • Create and maintain test scenarios, traceability, and coverage, and support UAT through test evidence, defect reproduction, and status reporting.
  • Plan and execute integration testing across SAP S/4HANA and external systems (APIs, middleware, file-based interfaces), including data validation and interface monitoring.
  • Perform defect management activities, including logging, triaging, root-cause analysis, and validation of fixes in collaboration with developers and functional teams.
  • Contribute to QA governance and quality practices, including test standards, entry/exit criteria, and release readiness checkpoints.
  • Support CI/CD-driven test execution and continuous improvement, including automation in pipelines, reporting dashboards, and optimization of test data, environments, and QA processes.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires a 4-year university education in an appropriate engineering field.
  • Proven experience (typically 6+ years) in QA automation with strong hands-on expertise in Tricentis Tosca, including modules, test case design, and execution management.
  • Demonstrated experience testing SAP S/4HANA environments (Fiori and/or GUI), with solid understanding of end-to-end business processes and integrations.
  • Strong knowledge of automation frameworks, reusable libraries, and data-driven testing approaches to enable scalable and maintainable solutions.
  • Experience executing and validating integration testing across APIs, middleware, and system interfaces, including data validation and error handling.
  • Hands-on experience in defect management tools (e.g., JIRA, ALM) with ability to perform root-cause analysis and collaborate effectively with developers and functional teams.
  • Familiarity with risk-based testing strategies, regression suite optimization, and QA governance practices (test strategy, traceability, entry/exit criteria).
  • Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines and automated test execution, along with test reporting, dashboards, and continuous improvement of QA processes.

The successful candidate will exhibit uncompromising integrity and commitment to upholding corporate values, and the OPG Code of Business Conduct.

OPG is committed to fostering an inclusive, equitable, and accessible environment. If you require accommodation during the selection process, please contact AODA@opg.com

Please note: All job postings at OPG are to fill existing vacancies within our organization.

OPG may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools as part of the applicant screening process. However, applications will also be reviewed by a member of our Recruitment team to ensure a fair and thorough assessment.

The base salary range considers many factors including, but not limited to experience, education, and training, including any collective agreement requirements for union represented positions. It is not typical for the salary to be offered near the top of the range, and salary is dependent on numerous factors. For management roles, the base salary range does not represent the total compensation package. The total compensation package for regular full-time management roles includes pay-for-performance programs for annual and medium time periods. Maintaining a high-performance culture and excellence is a core expectation of every member of our leadership team and is rewarded through the established compensation framework.

OPG is committed to employment equity. As such, we encourage applicants from equity-seeking communities (Indigenous Peoples, racialized persons, persons with disabilities, and women). We strongly believe that alleviating the under-representation of equity-seeking individuals will create a stronger OPG team and allow us to better serve the needs of our diverse communities.

In order to fulfill the above-mentioned purpose, priority in hiring may be given to qualified persons who self-identify as a member of equity-seeking groups as identified in the application process. This initiative constitutes a special program under the Human Rights Code/Canadian Human Rights Act.
