Job description
Job Overview : The Accounting Manager ensures accurate financial records and compliance with standards. This role involves analyzing financial documents, verifying transactions, and managing payroll, reporting to the Director of Finance. Key Responsibilities : Use QuickBooks to prepare and record financial entries.
Monitor inventory levels and COGS monthly.
Produce monthly inventory control reports.
Reconcile subsidiary accounts and bank transactions.
Oversee accounts payable / receivable and assist in monthly financial statement preparation.
Maintain the general ledger and prepare financial reports (balance sheets, P&L).
Ensure confidentiality of financial information.
Handle GST / HST, WSIB, and EHT reporting.
Organize filing system and manage special projects as needed. Knowledge and Skills : Strong understanding of accounting principles and GAAP.
Advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables).
Attention to detail, accuracy, and numerical aptitude.
Ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Education and Experience : 3+ years as a Senior Accountant, including 1 year in manufacturing.
1-2 years with inventory systems and QuickBooks Online.
BSc / BComm in Accounting / Finance or related field.
CPA or in progress is a plus.
Experience with general ledger and month-end / year-end processes; ERP implementation experience is an asset.
