About the Position :
The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and timely cost estimates for a variety of projects in Western Canada.

Duties and Responsibilities :
- Produce accurate cost estimates for a variety of projects at various stages of project development.
- Prepare quantity takeoffs using PlanSwift for incorporation into cost estimates.
- Complete estimates required for construction budgeting.
- Review all final change orders and interior selection packages for accuracy and completeness, prior to scheduled project start date.
- Prepare material take offs, labour and equipment cost estimations necessary to successfully carry out construction projects according to proposals, plans, estimates and specifications.
- Review requests for customized price quotes based on adjustments to standard plans, specifications, and options and complete retail pricing for final acceptance.
- Create and adjust model assemblies in estimating software as required for new projects.
- Other related construction Estimating duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
- Degree or Diploma in a related field
- Five (5) or more years estimating experience for residential construction in Alberta, ideally in a fast-paced production builder environment is required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) is required
- Working knowledge of Homefront and PlanSwift is desired.
- Ability to read and interpret building specifications, and blueprints required.
- Strong organization, analytical and problem-solving skills with an emphasis on attention to detail is required.
