About CEIMIA

Launched in June 2020, the Global Partnership on AI ( GPAI ) brings together 28 like-minded governments and the European Union, representing more than 3 billion of the world’s population, and approximately 150 global leading AI experts with a focus on cutting-edge responsible AI projects to support the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

The International Center of Expertise in Montreal on Artificial Intelligence (Centre d’expertise international de Montréal en intelligence artificielle, CEIMIA ) has been established to support this mission, hosting two out of four of GPAI’s Working Groups : Responsible AI and Data Governance.

In collaboration with these Working Groups, it has developed an exciting, practical agenda that includes thematic projects relating to data for AI, environmental action, global health, and governance and human rights.

CEIMIA has also since developed its own project portfolio structured around the four programs mentioned above.
