Description
As a member of Brookfield Residential, the Interior Designer is responsible to provide homeowners with an exceptional customer experience by assisting them with their Interior Selections.
The Interior Designer provides support in proposing new innovative products to the offering and continuous improvement of the overall homeowner experience.
The role will report to the Interior Design Lead and will ensure our homeowner’s expectations are met or exceeded and reflected in clear concise documentation delivered in a timely manner with attention to detail and ultimately the customer’s satisfaction.
Your Key Deliverables
Develop strong knowledge base in current interior design trends and customer needs
Provide collaborative suggestions to enhance and update product offering
Support Interior Design Lead in enhancing product offering
Maintain schedules and appointments for homeowner selections
Support in planning and maintenance of product samples
Maintain supplier and vendor relationships
Consistent communication with our homeowners and with all internal departments to ensure timelines are met
Provide budget-conscious alternatives to our homeowners or re-selections due to stock issues
Ensure feature home interior selections are current and meet our target demographic
Provide prompt response to all communication requesting information or resolving field issues
Attend showhome walkthroughs for installation guidelines and familiarization of showhome product
Walk customer homes for installation guidelines and note potential product / installation concerns
Represent the Brookfield Residential brand and culture in a positive manner at all times
Liaison with Estimating for accuracy and timing of pricing requests
Attend product knowledge sessions with our Trade Partners
Ensure all homeowner Interior Selections are documented clearly
Ensure all upgraded product is documented on a change order with applicable cost
Ensure all documents are uploaded to the designated areas for processing
Ensure proper notification is given to all pertinent departments when a homeowner change request is processed
Book all homeowner selection meetings in a timely manner to maintain construction timelines
Document / photograph customer home walkthroughs and present to team to create inspirational discussions
Must Haves
Minimum 5 years experience in residential construction
Post-secondary education; specifically an Interior Design Degree / Diploma
Extensive product knowledge in latest design trends
Strong Computer Skills
Ability to sketch renderings or create a visual for homeowner expectation
Highly organized and detail oriented with great communication skills
Ability to create and maintain strong relationship with team, trade partners, and customers
