The Manager, Stations (field) directs, supervises and coordinates work related to the
operation, installation, construction, repairs, maintenance, commissioning and
decommissioning all types of substation equipment, protective relay and control systems, station metering, distribution automation equipment, and SCADA systems.
The incumbent is accountable for safety performance, work quality, staff development, staff productivity and work efficiency to achieve organizational goals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Accountable for the delivery of capital and maintenance work programs efficiently
and on time.
Provide guidance, coaching and leadership to staff to achieve maximum
productivity and promote a positive & professional work environment and maintain customer trust.
Monitor, supervise, report on and maintain overall work related to the operation,
installation, construction, repairs, maintenance, commissioning and
decommissioning all types of substation equipment, protective relay and control
systems, station metering, distribution automation equipment, and SCADA
systems.
Provide technical direction, guidance, review and approvals of work related to the
operation, installation, construction, repairs, maintenance, commissioning and
decommissioning all types of substation equipment, protective relay and control
systems, station metering, distribution automation equipment, and SCADA
systems.
Ensure staff continuously adheres to safety rules, work procedures, departmental
policies and work practices, including providing effective administration of
vacation, overtime, relief, attendance management, etc. in accordance with the
collective agreement and department policy Conduct crew inspections, site
inspections and safety meetings.
Investigate and respond to incidents, accidents and abnormal conditions.
Develop and implement improvements in processes, tools, equipment and
methods to increase safety, quality, customer satisfaction and cost effectiveness.
Effectively collaborate, coordinate and communicate with internal Toronto Hydro
staff and external contractors.
Requirements :
MEA Substation Electrician Journeyperson Certification or Certified Electrical / Electronic Engineering Technologist (C.
E.T) or Electrical Engineer (P.Eng).
Familiar with work procedures and practices for hazardous work environments.
5 years of supervisory or project management experience.
- Familiar with various computer systems / applications including safety performance tracking systems, accident / incident investigation techniques, work management and general office automation tools.
- Familiar with reading & understanding electrical drawings, work protection codes, feeder / operating prints work practices and standards Knowledge, experience and skilled in correspondence and report writing.
