Job Summary
Our client is looking to bring on board a passionate, energetic Senior Scientist with a deep expertise in molecular and cell biology, alongside specialized knowledge in skin biology.
In this role, you will be leading a team tasked with evaluating the performance of key active skincare ingredients, utilizing in vitro and ex vivo skin models to assess formulation efficacy.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and refine cellular assays and biomarker analyses using advanced techniques such as ELISA, flow cytometry, and immunohistochemistry, under the guidance of senior leadership.
- Contribute to the troubleshooting and refinement of experimental protocols.
- Oversee daily activities of junior scientists and interns, ensuring compliance with project guidelines and timelines.
- Provide hands-on training in laboratory techniques to team members, ensuring high standards in experimental execution.
- Manage multiple research projects, focusing on innovative product formulations and effectiveness testing, while adhering to deliverables and deadlines.
- Ensure smooth laboratory operations by maintaining equipment and enforcing safety and regulatory protocols.
- Suggest and implement process improvements to enhance lab efficiency.
- Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to ensure project success.
- Collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams, as well as working independently to meet project objectives.
- Prepare and review technical documentation, such as SOPs, protocols, and study reports.
- Stay informed about the latest in vitro / ex vivo techniques in skincare, integrating innovative methods into ongoing projects.
- Engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels, demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills.
- Identify and collaborate with external experts to support project needs and apply cutting-edge techniques.
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment, addressing challenges proactively and maintaining high motivation.
Qualifications
- PhD in molecular biology, cell biology, or a related field, with 1-2 years of industry experience.
- Extensive experience with cellular assay design, optimization, and execution using techniques like primary cell tissue culture, ex vivo tissue model handling, primary cell isolation, ELISA, flow cytometry, and immunohistochemistry.
- Proven ability to mentor and manage team members effectively.
- Strong background in hypothesis-driven experimental design and execution.
- Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools such as GraphPad Prism, FlowJo, ImageJ, and MS Office.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
