Position Summary

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist to join the UHN Reactivation Care Centre. In this role you will support patients within the Centre.

Duties

  • Provides assessment and treatment of acute care in-patients at the Toronto Western Hospital.
  • Provides evidence-based and patient centered practice to patients seen.
  • Supports the development and implementation of best practice models of occupational therapy in the acute care setting at TWH.
  • In cooperation with other members of the occupational therapy in-patient team, provides assessment and treatment for patients across the hospital as required.
  • Works with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Participates in the clinical education of occupational therapy students.
  • Participate in Allied Health meetings and quality initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a Masters of Science degree (MSc) in Occupational Therapy, or equivalent.
  • Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO).
  • Previous experience in an acute care Hospital environment preferred.
  • Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) certified.
  • Excellent interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Must be physically capable of performing the daily activities associated with patient care and occupational therapy treatment.
  • Experience in assessment and treatment of general internal medicine patients, Ortho / Msk patients, and patients with Neurological deficits.
  • Demonstrated appropriate and effective written, oral, and nonverbal communication skills.
  • Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists’ membership preferred.
  • Computer literacy.
