Position Description : Director of Programs, Full Time
Location : Edmonton, AB
Junior Achievement of Northern Alberta & NWT (JANA) is seeking a dynamic and visionary individual to join our team as the Director of Programs.
As a non-profit organization, JANA is dedicated to inspiring and empowering young people to succeed in a global economy through hands-on programs focused on financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship.
Position Summary : Reporting to the President and CEO, the Director of Programs will be responsible for overseeing JANA's program offerings, ensuring their alignment with educational standards and the needs of students, educators, and volunteers.
This leadership role requires a strategic and innovative thinker with a passion for youth education and community development.
Responsibilities :
- Execute the strategic vision for JANA's program portfolio, ensuring programs meet the evolving needs of students and align with educational objectives and JA Canada and JA Worldwide standards.
- Collaborate with educators, industry partners, and volunteers to ensure program delivery excellence and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
- Lead a team of program managers and coordinators, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure program quality and impact.
- Monitor program outcomes and evaluate effectiveness to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for program expansion and partnerships to meet the growing demand for financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurial education.
- Stay informed about educational trends, curriculum changes, and industry developments to inform program design and relevance.
- Represent JANA at community events, conferences, and meetings to promote the organization and advocate for youth education.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Business, or a related field. A Master's degree is an asset.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in program development, preferably in the education or non-profit sector.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of educational systems and curriculum frameworks, with a focus on financial literacy and entrepreneurship education.
- Demonstrated experience in program management, including planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to identify and seize opportunities for program growth and improvement.
- Passionate about youth education, community engagement, and the mission of Junior Achievement.
