Job Description

About your team :

With our enhanced product vision to help customers get more value out of Ignition, we are doubling down on and evolving our integration strategy.

The team's mandate is to vet the various partners Ignition could work with and set them against a prioritization framework aimed at balancing value to our install base, new customers, and strategic brand presence.

The integration strategy will complement our product roadmap and become an essential component to accelerate our platform goals.

About the role :

We're looking for an experienced product leader to help guide our growing partner & ecosystem business who's passionate about solving customer problems, building world-class products, and driving growth.

You will work directly with the Product Group (Engineering, Product Management & Produce Design) and collaborate with key internal partners in Partnerships, Marketing, Customer Experience, Data, Finance and Sales.

As the Principal Product Manager, Ecosystem and Partnerships, you are a builder at heart. You enjoy and thrive on the big picture as well as getting stuck into the details.

You have a passion for building and fostering relationships - both internal and external - and you're obsessed about both customer and commercial outcomes.

You are not just focused on the why, but also how a product is built to deliver varied experiences at scale, focusing on expanding Ignition's partner integrations and helping the partnership team commercialise these partnerships.

You have proven technical proficiency, enjoy working on problems related to scaling, product design, and APIs, and can clearly communicate what the service does so that customers can easily and at scale integrate with it.

You are both strategically minded regarding the product roadmap, partner integrations, complementing and accelerating product-market fit, and the ecosystem working as a force multiplier for customer growth and retention.

What your day to day will look like :

  • Provide product thought leadership in identifying critical customer requirements, understanding business goals, doing competitive analysis and defining the partner-integration roadmap and KPIs
  • Define and build a vision for the next generation of Ignition's integrations for our core accountant and bookkeeper customers.
  • Implement approaches to best accelerate our ecosystem-led growth (ELG) strategy and explore ways to attract and engage a broader set of professional service customers.

This includes drafting documents that work backwards from our customers (FAQ style) to describe key objectives, execution strategies, goals, and solutions

  • Scope, pitch, and facilitate the building of functionality that spans Ignition's core product while considering the platform's future state and business development strategy.
  • The role demands, seeing the big picture and identifying strategically meaningful problems, as well as the ability to investigate opportunities for significant product changes that are a business enabler and engagement driver.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners in Product and the broader business to formulate, advocate for, and implement a comprehensive platform strategy.

This strategy will initially focus on Ignition's existing accounting professional business, with the intent to expand and replicate successful approaches for future growth in other professional services sectors.

  • Engage and collaborate with leading SaaS vendors and platform developers within the industry to create and deliver an integrated, high-value experience within both our and our partners' ecosystems.
  • Demonstrate customer obsession by being a champion for the user experience with deep customer empathy. Interact with and engage current customers to help validate and define the ecosystem's roadmap and workflow architecture.
  • Effectively manage dependencies, priorities, and plans across different groups at Ignition toward consistent product delivery aligned with common goals
  • Work closely with the Product Leadership Team, the VP of Partnerships and Ecosystem, the partnership team and cross-functionally with the global GTM teams to deliver on committed timelines and commercial KPIs.
