The Director of People and Culture will support the execution of Canadian human resources and National talent acquisition functions.

This role requires a leader with a strong background in employee engagement, change management, risk mitigation and data-driven talent strategies.

The Director will oversee HR operations, ensure compliance with labor laws, and drive a proactive data supported recruitment process that supports the organization's growth and retention needs.

What You Will Do :

Human Resources Leadership :

  • Support the development and execute HR strategies that promote an inclusive, high-performing, and compliant work environment.
  • HR operations, including employee relations, performance management, compensation for specified departments.
  • Ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal employment laws and regulations.
  • Support and continue to develop / improve initiatives to drive organizational culture, employee engagement, and retention.
  • Partner with departmental leadership on talent management strategies.

Talent Acquisition :

  • Lead the national talent acquisition function with a focus on structure and metrics supporting innovative recruiting strategies to attract top talent across all levels.
  • Support the Recruitment Lead who is driving the full-cycle recruitment process, from job posting and sourcing to interviewing, selection, and onboarding.
  • Build employer brand initiatives to position the organization as an employer of choice within its industry.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of talent pipelines, leveraging data to predict and address future talent needs.
  • Ensure a diverse, equitable, and inclusive hiring process, promoting diversity in the workplace.
  • Collaborate with decentralized recruiting HR team members, hiring managers and senior leadership to understand workforce needs and deliver top-tier talent acquisition results.

Leadership and Coaching :

  • Provide coaching and mentorship to HR staff, supporting their professional development and performance.
  • Drive leadership development programs and initiatives that empower managers and leaders to effectively lead their teams.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on all HR matters, including organizational design and talent optimization.

Data-Driven Decision Making :

  • Leverage HR analytics and reporting to inform decisions related to workforce planning, performance management, retention, and compensation strategies.
  • Use data to continuously assess and improve recruitment and HR processes, ensuring optimal efficiency and effectiveness.

What You Will Bring :

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree or HR certification preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in talent acquisition, including the development and execution of recruitment strategies.
  • In-depth knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage complex HR and recruitment initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with all levels of the organization.
  • Experience with HR information systems (HRIS) and applicant tracking systems (ATS), as well as HR analytics tools. Workday and UKG experience an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking capabilities.
