We’re seeking a hands-on Maintenance Team Lead to actively participate in the maintenance and repair of Canada’s Leopard 2 fleet (including the Leopard 2 battle tank).
This role involves both leading a skilled team of technicians and performing repairs and maintenance alongside them to support the long-term operational sustainment of these vehicles.
Based in Nisku, AB, the role offers a unique blend of Heavy Duty Off-Road technical work and team leadership in a high-impact environment.

Responsibilities
What you'll be doing :
Execute hands-on repairs, diagnostics, upgrades, and maintenance on the Leopard 2 family of vehicles, including subsystems and specialized attachments.
This includes the Leopard 2 battle tank and accompanying support vehicle.
Act as the technical point of contact for the 11+ person project team, bridging communication between the maintenance team, military personnel, and partner organizations.
Lead by example on the floor, directly handling and troubleshooting maintenance tasks while overseeing the technical work of the team.
Coordinate team schedules, rotations, and oversee the quality of work, maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Mentor, coach, and support team members to ensure they meet technical and safety standards, assisting with problem-solving on challenging repairs.
Communicate ongoing progress and needs to the project team, ensuring that all work aligns with project goals and military standards.
Complete administrative tasks, including approving time sheets and producing detailed reports for each project stage.
Qualifications
What you bring :
Red Seal or Journeyman Certification as a Heavy Duty Mechanic (Off-Road), with 5+ years of hands-on technical experience.
Proven experience leading a maintenance team (5+ team members), ideally in a high-stakes or military-related environment.
Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical skills with Off-Road vehicles, heavy machinery, or similar equipment; military vehicle repair experience is an asset.
Excellent communication and prioritization abilities, with a readiness to solve problems and ensure project objectives are met.
Flexibility to travel within the Edmonton area and work both in workshop and field environments as needed.
Ability to pass enhanced security and background checks
Nice to Have :
Experience with Canadian Armed Forces equipment, controlled goods and / or security certification.
Additional language skills in French or German.
