Job Title : Senior Software Developer

Contract Duration : 3+ Months

Pay range C$650 - 700 / Day

Job Description :

Join our team as a Senior Software Developer and play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining high-quality software applications.

You will translate technical specifications into working applications, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the efficient operation of software packages.

Key Responsibilities :

• Develop detailed programming specifications, write and generate code, and compile data-driven programs.
• Conduct unit testing and resolve technical problems.
• Provide technical assistance for implementation, conversion, and migration.
• Collaborate with IT professionals throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Design, code, test, debug, and document applications.
• Utilize object and / or third-generation language development tools.
• Work with relational and hierarchical database technologies.
• Use information retrieval packages and query languages.
• Understand and utilize communication protocols.
• Elicit and document information from stakeholders and subject matter experts.
• Demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Work effectively as a team member and meet deadlines.

Qualifications :

• Experience in programming and analysis.
• Specialized software package support experience.
• Knowledge of structured methodologies for software development, design, implementation, and maintenance.
• Experience with design, code, test, debug, and documentation.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages.
• Experience with application design, latest design patterns, deployment, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of relational and hierarchical database technologies.
• Experience with information retrieval packages and query languages.
• Understanding of communication protocols.
• Structured methodologies experience for software development, design, implementation, and maintenance.
• Ability to elicit and document information from stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications :

• Knowledge and experience with programming Internet-ready applications.
• Experience with rapid application development (RAD) methodologies.
• Understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies, and practices.
• Experience with middleware and gateways.
• Ability to review, analyze, and modify product installation scripts.
• Experience providing post-implementation support and resolving technical issues.
• Experience conducting design walkthrough sessions.
• Knowledge of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and related regulations.
• Ability to provide user and system documentation.
• Experience with Objection and Appeals Tracking System (OATS) Application.
• In-depth knowledge of Lotus Notes data structures.
• Demonstrated experience with Lotus Notes R6.5.1, JavaScript, and client-server / PC application environments.
• Strong knowledge and experience with Lotus Notes architecture and Domino administration.
• Quest Migrator for Notes to SharePoint experience.
• Knowledge of PC / LAN / WAN and communication technologies.
