Job Description
Dietetic Services is seeking to fill a full-time, temporary (until October 18, 2024) Dietitian position to work with diverse patient populations, including both youth and adults, with mental health and addictions issues on acute care and rehabilitation inpatient units.
Reporting directly to the Director of Interprofessional Practice, Standards and Measurement, you will provide nutrition education and support to clients at the Queen Street site.
You will work closely with all members of the interprofessional team and offer support to Nutrition and Food Services staff to provide optimal nutritional care.
- You will develop and facilitate nutrition education sessions for the program; assess client's nutritional needs from both subjective and objective data;
- formulate, implement and evaluate clients' care plan; counsel individual clients as required; consult with clinical staff in rounds and team reviews, and in the planning and delivery of client care;
and maintain appropriate documentation. Other related duties as assigned. You will support a workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable regulatory and legislative requirements.
Minimum Requirements
You will have successfully completed a comprehensive dietetic internship from a Dietitians of Canada accredited program or equivalent and / or Master’s Degree in Nutrition.
You are licensed and registered in good standing with the College of Dietitians of Ontario. You are team oriented but also able to work independently and have a minimum of 2 years clinical experience.
An understanding of the needs of clients with addictions and / or mental illness is preferred. Successful candidates must possess strong interpersonal and group facilitation skills.
Strong communication skills (verbal and written) combined with computer skills in MS Office, is an asset. The ability to work effectively in a wide range of settings with individuals from diverse backgrounds is required.
Bilingualism (French / English) or proficiency in a second language would be an asset.
