We are seeking an aspiring, self-motivated, and collaborative Senior Project Manager - Indigenous Projects committed to leading projects, building relationships and empowering teams across our Alberta business unit.

By working closely to build relationships with Indigenous Nations and government partners, you will provide strategic advice and solutions, and contribute to meaningful projects that enhance access to housing, clean drinking water, education, healthcare, and community infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Project Lead and Account Manager to grow and nurture client accounts and relationships with Indigenous Nations and their infrastructure projects.
  • Cultivate, direct, and seek opportunities to grow your accounts across Alberta.
  • Oversee your business unit’s operational objectives, including quality, commercial / financial, people, and culture.
  • Drive collaboration, identify opportunities and develop innovative strategies to expand services in the local market to achieve annual growth targets.
  • Collaborate with leaders from other business units to secure new opportunities and optimize resource allocation.
  • Use your leadership skills, to demonstrate company values and cultural behaviours, delegate to and empower project delivery teams, and build a personal brand.
  • Contribute and lead the growth of the business unit by growing sales inside existing accounts and new accounts.
  • Advocate for client satisfaction and embrace a client-centric attitude.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to individuals and communities. Attend conferences, project meetings, and industry-related events.
  • Foster, guide, and grow a portfolio of Indigenous projects.

Qualifications

  • A strong desire to grow our business presence in the local market and meet company growth targets.
  • Experience building and nurturing long-term client relationships and working collaboratively with Indigenous governing bodies.

Experience working with First Nations and local authorities in Alberta is considered a strong asset.

  • 5 years or more of project management experience involving Indigenous governing bodies, Indigenous organizations, or local, provincial, or federal governments.
  • An established network of industry contacts and relationships within the region as well as involvement with applicable regional industry and trade associations.
  • Knowledge of various types of construction methodologies, project management models, financial management, building codes, contract law, and / or relevant legislation.
  • Clear understanding of a professional services business model, including workforce composition strategies.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills complemented by adept presentation, organizational, and analytical abilities.
  • Professional industry credentials such as PMP, ., CET, RA, or similar industry-recognized designation is considered a strong asset.
  • A strong sense of community and involvement in local community boards and associations.
  • Travel required.
