Robert Half is partnering with our client, an insurance and investment provider specialising in health and retirement needs for their Canadian clients.
We are supporting this client in the search of a Business Analyst, Insurance systems who will be responsible for the management of data across systems such as premium rates, policy eligibility, and
claims adjudication in the Toronto office.
Responsibilities :
- Verification and management of regular administrative requirements (e.g. monthly third-party eligibility files, monthly pre-authorized debit and periodic credit card payments, monthly invoicing support, and claims reporting.
- Support legal inquiries as well as regularly validating systems integrity across various systems.
- Ad Hoc research, analysis and administration / reporting.
- Identification and analysis of departmental systems / business process improvements, in conjunction with Management, and develop specifications, document process and procedures and train staff.
- Preparation and maintenance of documentation related to the above, including updating as required, and, as a minimum, an annual review
- Creates / maintains user documentation on all business processes across all systems, trains staff on the various system processes and changes
- Manages and maintains the flow of life events that impact eligibility and premium, payment management processes, handles testing and troubleshoots problems (policy-related, pricing
- changes etc.)
- Oversees the execution of all policy-related changes that impact insurance claims processing
- and premium billing across systems.
Overseeing cheque runs, premium billing processes and work with IT to ensure equipment is functional
Job Requirements :
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Working knowledge of group insurance systems with emphasis on insured eligibility, or health care claims adjudication, an asset.
- Strong interpersonal skills and proficiency in communicating processes, policies, and practices
- Strong communicator, both verbally and in written form
- Effective planning and organizational skills resulting in the ability to work effectively as part of a
team as well as independently.
Experience with SQL queries
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including functions such as pivot tables and graphics
- University degree or College Diploma
- CEBS certification an asset
- 5+ years of specialized experience
