The Opportunity
We are looking for a Middle School (grades 7-9) Guidance Counsellor , who understands the needs of Middle School learners, and lives and breathes our values, to join our Student Services Department, starting September 1, .
If you are that person, you will be in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers, and have :
- Completed Guidance Specialist Qualifications.
- A strong foundation in a guidance role, helping students with executive functioning, pathway planning, solution focused and short term counselling, social and emotional skills development and relationship building with parents and teachers.
- Experience in individual and group counselling
- A solid grasp of Culturally Responsive - Social Emotional Learning (CR-SEL) programming, and support services and understand the critical socio-emotional needs of middle school students as they begin their unique journeys at UTS.
- Special Education Qualifications as an added asset.
