Community Care Supervisor - Edmonton, Alberta

Full Time hours, Day shifts (On call evenings / weekends per rotation)

Reporting to the Care Manager or designate, the Care Supervisor is primarily responsible in ensuring that the immediate needs of the client are being met through the direct supervision of community employees.

The Care Supervisor is responsible for quality assurance, client and employee safety and best practices in the community as per CBI Home Health standards.

The Care Supervisor will be expected to represent the agency in a professional and responsible manner.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a recognized Licensed Practical Nursing program.
  • Current CLPNA registration
  • Minimum two (2) years clinical experience related to community care preferred
  • Valid CPR Certificate
  • Speak, read and write English at a level that meets the job requirements
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license and vehicle insurance with access to a dependable vehicle for work related travel
  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Screen completed within the past 12 months.
  • Must be available to work evenings and weekends.

Essential Functions

  • Provide the following supervision functions for community employees :
  • Ongoing support, coaching, and mentoring to community employees
  • Evaluate job performance and competencies of community employees and ensure they understand their role and the care to be provided
  • Supervise restricted activities of regulated health services provided by unregulated staff
  • Provide client specific training
  • Investigate client, community employees or Referring Agency concerns and assist in problem solving

  • Maintain knowledge of community care requirements / trends and participate in identifying services / training required to meet them
  • Ensures client centered care with client safety as a priority
