Reporting to the Director, People & Talent, the People & Talent Acquisition Specialist will play an integral role in executing full lifecycle recruitment and sourcing high-quality, diverse candidates for all roles across our company.

You are passionate about ensuring a best-in-class candidate experience and exceptional employee experience from pre-boarding to the employee’s first anniversary.

In addition to finding talent, you enjoy working on special HR-related projects that will provide exposure to other parts of the People & Talent function while developing your skillsets.

This role is a hybrid role working 3 - 4 days in our Scarborough office. During the onboarding and probationary period, you will find yourself spending more days in the office where the most learning occurs.

A Closer Look at What You Will Do

Recruitment

  • Own and perform full-cycle recruiting from job vacancy through to job offer and onboarding
  • Apply an equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) lens, expertly source, screen, and shortlist diverse, qualified talent
  • Partner with hiring managers in all areas of the business to understand their business and their recruitment needs, and provide recruitment guidance and support every step of the way
  • Develop and lead recruitment strategies and programs to achieve required staffing levels
  • Provide best-in-class candidate experience through communication, relationship building, and execution of the recruitment process
  • Serve as a brand ambassador, exciting candidates about the role and Harding Display; help them understand who we are, what we do, and why Harding Display is a great place to work
  • Proactively source top talent and build a talent pipeline through headhunting and maximizing sourcing channels, networks, diversity channels, social media, membership associations, etc.
  • Plan and execute on early talent strategies such as campus recruitment, career fairs, co-op, internships, summer students, etc.
  • Build and maintain relationships with university / college representatives to promote opportunities
  • Maintain a database of career event & program participants and build long-term relationships with top-tier students and graduates.
  • Manage relationships with temp agencies and search firms
  • Identify and track key recruitment metrics and provide insights on a semi-annual basis
  • Stay current on best practices and trends on effective recruitment techniques, labour market trends, and generational needs (i.

e., Millennials, GenZ) in order to continuously improve delivery of recruitment processes and service

Onboarding

  • Design and implement a formal onboarding framework that enables enhanced integration into the workplace and overall success of the employee
  • Collaborate with hiring managers, assist in developing tailored, comprehensive onboarding plans
  • Develop and coordinate new hire orientation, including welcoming new hires with welcome packages and facility tour
  • Act as main point of contact for new hires re : new hire paperwork and first day details
  • Arrange set up of access card, tech equipment, and accounts
  • Enhance compliance and health & safety training, and ensure all new hires, including temps, complete all required training

Special Projects & Initiatives

  • Lead and support all recruitment-related initiatives i.e., job profile rewrites / enhancements, employer branding, Careers Page development and maintenance
  • Implement and enhance recruitment-related systems and processes, i.e., applicant tracking system, onboarding platform, etc.
  • Utilize and oversee recruiting partnership accounts i.e., LinkedIn and Indeed
  • Develop and facilitate a recruitment training program for hiring managers
  • Oversee the employee referral program
  • Other related projects or tasks as assigned

What You Will Need to Succeed

  • Post secondary degree or certificate in Human Resources Management or related field
  • Minimum 2-4+ years of experience in an in-house recruiting / talent acquisition role doing full lifecycle recruitment
  • CHRP designation is considered an asset
  • Experience in the POP industry an asset
  • Experience recruiting for graphic, industrial or structural design roles an asset
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems and onboarding software
  • Self-motivated and takes initiative
