Wood currently has an exciting opportunity for a Transmission Line Engineer in Training . Reporting to the Engineering Manager , Transmission Lines , this position is located in our Calgary, AB office or any of the following locations : Vancouver, BC, Edmonton, AB, Saskatoon, SK, Oakville, ON or St Johns, NL.

- Transmission, Electrical, Civil or Structural Engineering Degree from a recognized university along with a Professional Engineering Designation or eligibility for registration with APEGA or similar.
- 0-3 years of transmission line engineering experience
- Proven experience within a Transmission Utility or EPC organization designing transmission lines utilizing PLS CADD / PLS-TOWER / PLS-POLE is required.
- Knowledge of electrical or structural aspects of transmission lines is an asset.
- Knowledge of underground cable transmission line design is an asset.
- Knowledge of transmission materials such as structures, conductors / OHSW, OPGW / ADSS, insulators, hardware accessories and fittings is an asset.
- Direct experience on the safety aspects of the design of high voltage transmission lines.
- Utility-specific knowledge of standards and safety requirements.
- Construction support experience for Transmission projects.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD.
