The Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager of Food Services, the Food Service Supervisors are responsible for assisting the manager in leading, planning, and, organizing all aspects of Food Services (including patient services, catering functions, and cafeteria) and to ensure quality and safety standards are maintained cost-effectively.
Responsibilities include and are not limited to :
- Supervision of preparing, assembly & delivery of patient meals and snacks, guest meals, cafeteria meals, and catering events (as required)
- Preparation and monitoring of time schedules & attendance; replacing staff as required.
- Enter staff payroll
- Interview & hire staff as required
Hours of Work
Various shifts range from 3 to 11.25 hour shifts, Monday- Sunday, 24 hour operation (backshifts required)
Your Qualifications
- Food Service Technology course or equivalent required
- Graduate of a 4-year nutrition degree preferred
- Food Handlers course & WHMIS an asset
- Experience in implementing strategies for healthy eating and revenue generation.
- Excellent leadership, team building & interpersonal skills required
- Excellent communication (written & oral), accuracy & organizational skills required
- Proven skills in customer service required.
- Superior supervision & decision making skills
- Competencies in other languages are considered an asset
