Pharma Medica Research is a full service contract research organization specialized in conducting early phase clinical trials in healthy volunteers, special and patient populations.
We are currently in need of a part-time Phlebotomist- Night Shift to join our team!
The Phlebotomist performs clinical procedures at Pharma Medica Research Inc. ( PMRI ). The position reports to Group Leader, MLA
Duties and Responsibilities :
1.Perform clinical procedures such as but not limited to : study check in procedures, subject and belongings search, mouth check, blood sample collection, sample processing and storage, meal monitor, etc.
according to the study protocol and / or SOP requirements.
2.Collect and process biological samples as required to conduct a clinical study.
3.Monitor subject safety and compliance with study restrictions and study procedures.
4.Perform general clinical duties to prepare for the clinical study (i.e. tube labelling, bunk room preparation, set up bleeding stations, etc.).
5.Perform general cleaning duties (i.e. decontaminate workstations and equipment such as centrifuges and fridges).
6.Properly complete documentation of clinical activities according to GCP, SOP guidelines, and / or regulatory requirements.
7.Perform any tasks (e.g. administrative work, tube labelling, sample bundling etc.) required by the Group Leader, MLA / Study Coordinator deemed necessary to conduct a clinical study.
8.Perform safety monitoring and adverse event documentation only if the training is complete.
9.Handle medical emergency situations with the study supervisor during the night.
10.Participate regularly in PMRI training programs including GCP, SOP training and PMRI in-house training modules.
11.Achieve 80% or greater in all PMRI training evaluations including GCP, SOP tests and PMRI in-house training module test.
12.Follow Joint Health and Safety rules and regulations at all times.
13.Other duties as required.
Candidates must be flexible to work all night shifts from Monday - Sunday.
Requirements :
- Post-secondary degree or equivalent.
- Completion of recognized Phlebotomy / ECG program.
- OSMT certification is an asset.
- Current CPR certification is an asset.
- Benchtop laboratory work experience is an asset.
- 6 months to 1 year of recent venipuncture experience.
- 1 year of CRO experience or equivalent.
- Good verbal and written English communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Good organizational skills.
- Good computer skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as a team member.
- Detail oriented and able to manage workload in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent in hands-on learning.
- Ability to work multiple tasks simultaneously
