We are seeking a motivated and innovative professional to join our Enterprise Risk Management and Insurance team!

As the Manager, Enterprise Risk Management and Insurance you are accountable to assist with the development of our enterprise risk management and corporate insurance programs including internal and external networking, claims management, due diligence and risk management data analysis.

This role will include close collaboration with executive leadership with additional reporting to the board of directors.

You will contribute to our team by :

  • Supporting corporate insurance programs and the placement of appropriate risk-based coverage lines (property, liability, Directors & Officers, Crime, workers compensation, Fiduciary and Auto).
  • Ensuring timely and accurate execution of all insurance policies.
  • Assisting to ensure adequate insurance coverage through quantitative analysis and risk assessment is in force for all identified risk.
  • Facilitating and participating in the loss control inspection process required by insurers.
  • Providing risk expertise on construction, business development, acquisitions, divestitures, and financing projects.
  • Assist in the maturation and ongoing development of our ERM program, including close consultation with our business units and field operations to report and monitor the Company's enterprise, operational and strategic risks.
  • Developing effective communication pathways to support collaboration and engagement with our staff on understanding primary and interconnected risks that may affect their operations.
  • Ensuring the organization's risk management policies and strategies comply with our risk management framework and other similar policies with the organization.
  • Managing resources within approved budget.
  • Liaising with our Insurance Broker, Consultants and other external stakeholders, service providers in order to successfully complete our project and renewal objectives.

What you will bring to the role :

Education :

  • University degree required, preferably B. Com, Engineering, or related field.
  • Canadian Risk Management Designation would be an asset.
  • Educational equivalency may be considered.

Experience :

5-9 years of related experience.

Technical Skills :

  • Strong ability to communicate and work effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Well versed in the power industry / business and the associated risks.

Working Conditions :

  • Hybrid Office / Work from home position
  • Travel to Capital Power generating facilities on a regular basis.
  • Travel for Insurer meetings and Industry conferences
