Scholarship and Student Aid Office
McGill’s Scholarship and Student Aid Office (SSAO) advises students on funding options, budgeting, and debt management. They disburse provincial, federal, and US student aid funding, and assist with government aid documentation. They offer programs including Entrance Bursaries, Scholarships, In-Course Financial Aid (loans and bursaries), and Work Study based on financial need.
Position Summary
Supports the development and maintenance of financial reports and trend analyses to meet the needs of the Scholarship and Student Aid Office. Responsibilities include developing financial data and report delivery for various aid programs, managing data warehouse views, reporting tools, and providing end-user support. Represents the office within the university community.
Primary Responsibilities
- Ensure data availability to support operational and strategic needs, including developing reports and data views for aid programs.
- Maintain access, security, and deployment of financial reports in compliance with data governance and confidentiality policies.
- Support data quality control and reconcile subsidiary systems with the finance system as needed.
- Analyze data requests and determine the best methods to assemble and report data.
- Provide analytical and quantitative support for decision-making.
- Develop and maintain web-based reports and templates, incorporating new data sources.
- Maintain report documentation and ensure timely report delivery.
- Participate in PowerBI development and report maintenance.
- Develop and test data warehouse views, implementing upgrades as needed.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, providing advice and training to clients.
- Provide relevant data to the Student Services Assessment team.
- Represent the unit at meetings and undertake special projects.
Other Qualifying Skills and / or Abilities
Knowledge of English and French : McGill is an English-language university; English proficiency is required at level #4 (Fluent).
Minimum Education and Experience :
Bachelor's Degree with 3 years related experience.
