If so, the Rec Room Child Care is seeking dedicated and dependable individuals to join our team as at our newly renovated 69 Long Branch Ave. location in Etobicoke!

At this new location, we are looking for a Registered Early Childhood Educator program teacher, with a special focus on providing a supportive environment for Toddlers (1.

5 to 2.5 years) and Preschoolers (2.5 to 4 years - up to the age children enter Kindergarten).

What qualities are we looking for in our Toddler and Preschool teachers at our Long Branch Site ?

  • Passion for Children. You love working with pre-kindergarten children and aspire to help them grow and develop. You are also motivated to provide the best care and education tailored for their early-stage developmental needsMaintain open and effective communication with parents and guardians, including the ability to handle difficult conversations and discuss children's developmental progress..
  • Value Teamwork. You are open to guidance from team leaders and supervisors, who offer clear instructions and structured environments.

We are also looking for a program teacher who is a team player and who works well with other team members.

  • Preference for a Stable, Supportive, and Engaging Work Environment. You enjoy simply being around children and implementing age-appropriate activities that support the developmental milestones of toddlers and preschoolers.

Your Responsibilities - How We Nurture 'Early-Stage' Development

  • Create a safe and nurturing environment for the Toddlers and Preschoolers in your care. Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children at all times.
  • Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans and activities with modifications using Universal Design for Learning .

This will involve a more hands-on approach, that supports early developmental milestones among Toddlers and Preschoolers, such as motor skills, language acquisition, and social interaction.

Provide guidance and scaffold children as they learn and grow. Be attentive with the children and encourage their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.

You must create an environment that can promote language, communication, early literacy, and fine motor skills.

  • Maintain open and effective communication with parents and guardians , including the ability to handle difficult conversations and discuss children's developmental progress.
  • Keep accurate records of daily activities, including meals, naps, and behavior. Our team uses the Lillio app to communicate these daily activities with parents and guardians.
  • Create and implement Individual Support Plans when required and have the ability to advocate for children with their individual needs.

Requirements

  • Have PR status
  • Not a student
  • Fluent in English (oral and writing)

Technical Training and Experience Requirements

  • Membership MUST be in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators ( we only accept ECE's for this age group )
  • Have a minimum 2-year employment experience working with Toddler and Preschool children in a group setting
  • Experienced in using ELECT and How Does Learning Happen? in Emergent Curriculum planning
  • All necessary qualifications and credentials as required by the Ministry of Education
  • Valid Standard First Aid and CPR-C / AED Certification
