Financial Analyst – Edmonton

Role Summary
We are seeking a Financial Analyst to join our team in Edmonton. This role supports branch and project operations by analyzing financial performance, identifying risks, and improving forecasting accuracy across multiple projects and business units.
The ideal candidate has a strong accounting or finance foundation with experience in reporting, analysis, and supporting operational decision-making in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Support monthly financial reporting for branches and/or projects, including variance analysis, commentary, and insights
• Analyze project financials (costs, revenue, WIP) to identify margin risks, cost overruns, and forecasting gaps
• Support accurate revenue recognition using percentage-of-completion (cost-to-cost) methodologies
• Partner with Operations teams to provide financial visibility and support decision-making
• Support budgeting and forecasting cycles, including monthly forecast updates
• Maintain and improve financial reporting processes, tools, and documentation
• Prepare supporting schedules and analysis for audits and financial reviews
• Deliver ad hoc financial analysis and insights to support operational and strategic decisions
• Build tools to improve financial analysis and business decision support
Qualifications / Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 2+ years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or project finance
• CPA or CPA candidate preferred
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across finance and operations teams
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
