Job Title: Journeyman Electrician

Job Description

This role focuses on servicing, maintaining, and installing electrical systems within warehouse, commercial, and light-industrial facilities. You will troubleshoot, repair, and test equipment on site and may operate a service van independently if you bring sufficient experience. The position involves both ongoing service work and new equipment installations, particularly in environments that use conveyor systems and warehouse infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Service and maintain electrical systems within warehouse, commercial, and light-industrial facilities.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical equipment and systems on site to ensure safe and reliable operation.
• Test electrical systems and components to verify proper function after repairs or installations.
• Install new electrical equipment, including conveyors and related systems, and complete setup and commissioning.
• Perform commercial electrical installations, including installing conduit, pulling circuits, wiring, and conduit bending.
• Complete commercial service calls at various customer locations, including warehouse facilities and retail sites.
• Communicate daily with the office in the morning or the day before to confirm job assignments, locations, and tasks.
• Travel to multiple sites in a day as required and ensure timely arrival and completion of assigned work.
• Follow all safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment at all times.
• Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including service reports, maintenance logs, and any required records.
• Operate a service van independently when assigned, ensuring it is kept organized, safe, and well-maintained.
• Collaborate with other journeymen and apprentices in the field to complete projects efficiently and safely.

Essential Skills

• Journeyman Electrician certification with at least 3+ years of experience as a journeyman.
• Minimum 6 months of experience in electrical maintenance or service work.
• Commercial electrical experience, including installing conduit and pulling circuits.
• Hands-on experience with electrical troubleshooting, maintenance, and electrical service.
• Experience with commercial installs, including conduit installation, wiring, and conduit bending.
• Experience working with conveyors and related systems.
• Experience working within warehouse environments or similar industrial settings.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical drawings.
• Ability to travel to different job sites, including multiple sites in a single day, as required.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean Driver’s Abstract suitable for operating a service vehicle.
• Strong commitment to safety and adherence to workplace safety procedures and regulations.

• Fall Protection (Fall PRO) ticket.
• Aerial Work Platform (AWP) ticket.
• WHMIS certification.
• CSTS certification.
• Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) training (nice to have).
• First Aid certification (nice to have).
• Previous experience in commercial and light-industrial service work.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as part of a field team.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate with office staff and field team members.

Work Environment

You will work primarily within warehouses and commercial/light-industrial service environments, including facilities such as distribution centers, storage facilities, and retail locations. The position typically follows a Monday to Friday schedule, 8:00 . to 4:30 ., with about 40 hours per week and only rare on-call requirements. Work is largely local, though job sites can vary across different parts of the city, and you may attend multiple sites in a single day. The field team includes several journeymen and apprentices, supported by office staff. Personal protective equipment is mandatory and includes 6-inch steel-toe boots, a hard hat, a high-visibility vest, and safety glasses. You will regularly work around conveyors and other industrial equipment, using standard electrical tools and equipment in active warehouse and commercial settings.

The pay range for this position is $41.00 - $43.00/hr.
