Business Data Analyst

I am working with a leading operations management and analytics company dedicated to empowering businesses to thrive amidst intense competition and ongoing disruption.

Their holistic approach delves deep into operations to enhance global efficiency, drive data-driven insights, elevate customer satisfaction, and ensure effective risk management and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) for identified data products and strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Demonstrate proficiency in data handling and manipulation using tools such as SQL and Excel, enabling effective analysis and decision-making processes.
• Identify, prioritize, and contribute to the delivery of various data products across the organization, emphasizing the implementation of data strategy initiatives like integrating internal and third-party data to enhance data assets.
• Collaborate with technical teams and data engineers to execute data product delivery, ensuring alignment with project objectives and timelines.
• Perform business value mapping for data products and effectively communicate outcomes to stakeholders, facilitating informed decision-making.
• Manage day-to-day project operations, leveraging domain expertise to ensure project teams meet client expectations and deliver high-quality results.

Qualifications

• Must have experience in the Insurance industry
• Master's degree in economics, mathematics, computer science / engineering, operations research, or related analytics fields;

however, those with BA / BS degrees from esteemed academic institutions in the same fields are also encouraged to apply.

• The role is based in Toronto, with a requirement to be present in client offices for a minimum of 2 days per week.
• Prior experience in the insurance domain and data analytics is essential, with a preference for familiarity with life and health insurance.
• Applicants should have at least 5 years of experience in managing data products and executing data strategy projects.
• Proficiency in both data analysis and business analysis tasks is necessary for this role.
• Technical skills required include proficiency in SQL, Python, data analysis techniques, database tools, data exploration methods, data visualization, and generating actionable insights.

Must be local to Toronto, Ontario & willing work on-site 2 days a week
