Job Description

EBC thinks outside the box and deploys all its know-how to carry out major infrastructure projects : bridges, roads, highways, tunnels, marine installations.

Our ability to meet deadlines and budgets as well as our vast expertise in the field allow us to actively participate in large-scale projects such as the Samuel-De-Champlain Bridge, the Réseau Express Métropolitain (REM) and the Site C hydro-electric power station located near Fort St-John in British Columbia.

Our seasoned team of engineers, project managers and other specialists also put their energy into the construction of wind farms and to the benefit of hydroelectric projects such as dams, power stations, tunnels and dikes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the cost control cycle throughout the project execution, by setting up projects / mandates, tracking budgets and schedules, within the project management system;
  • Calculate the initial budget on the basis of the proposal;
  • Ensure tracking of hours, expenses, costs and budget updates;
  • Monitor changes and coordination with the project team;
  • Evaluate change requests, evaluate their impact on project objectives and communicate changes to stakeholders;
  • Ensure and manage the project progress monitoring with discipline managers, including cost and schedule controls;
  • Ensure follow-up with project managers on regular updates of project forecasts, including periodic assistance in the estimation of remaining project costs, as well as necessary provisions and risks;
  • Records and resolves issues relating to project budgets and schedules;
  • Ensure the quality of prepared project status reports, executive summaries, and dashboards to provide timely updates on performance.

  • Degree in Administration, Finance, or Engineering;
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position, preferably in the construction industry;
  • Bilingual (an asset), but proficiency in English language with excellent communication skills (written and verbal) is required;
  • Strong personal IT skills (MS Office suite) and relevant software skills specific to project controls.

  • Autonomy;
  • Ability to work in a team;
  • Able to perform in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines;
  • Excellent organizational, communication and writing skills.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance

Requirements

  • Professional background in communication, marketing, or related disciplines; 3-5 years of relevant work experience; Excellent capacity for analysis and synthesis;
  • Great autonomy and attention to detail; Demonstrate initiative, rigour, integrity, and discretion; Advanced proficiency in English language communication skills, both written and oral;
  • Demonstrate strong time management and planning skills and excel in a deadline-driven environment; Develop the ability to tell stories : stories about clients, projects, people and EBC, and incorporate these stories into written narratives and supporting graphics within proposals that address the unique needs of each client;
  • Strong skills organizational skills, and a good ability to effectively prioritize tasks and work on several of them simultaneously;
  • Skills in proofreading, good judgment, and ability to solve problems; Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, and Teams);
  • Intermediate knowledge of the Adobe suite (InDesign, Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator); Adaptability and flexibility in terms of working hours;

Ability to work under pressure to meet delivery dates.
