Collaborate with management to establish and communicate safety goals and
objectives.
Actively focus and participate in all meetings and follow-up with all inquiries in a timely
manner.
- Work in collaboration with all stakeholders for health and safety initiatives.
- Manage the Accident and Incident Report Database and follow-up with all corrective
actions.
- Prepare and send all monthly and quarterly reports to management.
- Provide regular updates to the HS Manager on the status of corrective actions and
inspection findings.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training sessions.
- Develop and update safety policies and procedures.
- Coordinate safety-related meetings including agenda preparation and minutes taking.
- Verify and account for inventory and report to the HS Manager when supplies must be
ordered.
- Participate in inspections and assist in addressing any findings or deficiencies.
- Manage all WSIB claims from start to finish.
- Provide frequent training, coaching and mentorship to all Health and Safety Training
Coordinators and meet with each of them on at least a bi-weekly basis.
- Develop and facilitate health and safety trainings to all staff.
- Regularly update training material when there are legislated changes and / or changes to
internal policies and procedures.
- Schedule all employee trainings and ensure that they are completed prior to expiration.
- Promote awareness and participation in health and safety programs through effective
communication and activities.
- Prepare the Safe Supervisor Talk speaking points every 6 weeks.
- Perform a workplace inspection each week at a different plant and engage stakeholders.
- Encourage open communication channels for employees to report safety concerns or
suggestions for improvement.
Communicate regularly with employees about safety-related updates, reminders, and
successes.
