Job Description
1 year contract (Hybrid model 3 days a week in office)
The Human Resources Team is a thriving and passionate team. This role forms part of the People Partnering team and plays a key part in delivering exceptional people experiences across the entire employee lifecycle.
It works to implement key people strategy initiatives and projects, alongside providing support and advice to Managers in areas such as employee relations, policy, recruitment, employee engagement, learning and development and DE&I.
It involves working closely with other People Partners, alongside our Human Resources team and Centres of Excellence.
Reporting into the Director, Human Resources, this role demands strong interpersonal skills, ability to deal with ambiguity and the desire to implement innovative people solutions to our agencies.
You’ll be supported by the Human Resources team, our shared service center working across all Publicis Groupe Canada agencies.
People Strategy
Implement the agency people strategy which could include retention, reward and recognition, performance management, L&D, and other people related initiatives to support business goals and objectives
Manager team coaching and guidance
Provide professional, business focused, day-to-day people & culture services including performance management, grievance resolution, recruitment coordination, salary review advice
Performance management & development
- Support Director in preparing and delivering talent mapping and succession planning sessions with Leadership teams
- Support end to end management of performance issues, grievances, complaints, claims and investigations
- Provide sound advice and support to teams and managers ensuring decisions are based on awareness of all associated people risks, and those issues are handled fairly and with due process and best practice
On-boarding and Off-boarding
- Act as the agency point of contact when welcoming new starters
- Review and implement effective and engaging on-boarding programs
- Provide feedback to managers, addressing any concerns and sharing guidance to remedy concerns during first few months
Culture and Employee Engagement
- Drive specific culture / DE&I initiatives to foster a positive and inclusive culture supporting retention and employee engagement
- Contribute / ideate employee recognition programs and events to celebrate achievements and foster a sense of belonging
Administration
- Oversee leave processes such as Parental, Working with Cancer etc. by supporting employees, asking the right questions and working with the HR Hub to prepare relevant documentation and administer process
- Regularly review Policy books and people processes to ensure up to date and escalate any changes needed
- Manage end to end process for Short Term and Long Term Disability cases
Qualifications
- 2-3 years experience in a Human Resources role (ideally in a multi-site, matrix organisation)
- Experience across the whole employee lifecycle including recruitment, on-boarding, performance management, manager development, remuneration and benefits, employee relations and off-boarding
- Intermediate working knowledge of employment law, including the Employment Standards Act, with the ability to apply this knowledge in workplace situations
- Knowledge of visas and immigration (desirable)
- Comfortable with the flexibility, fluidity and constant change and often ambiguity that the industry brings
- A creative thinker, always considering new ways, better ways to do things and comfortable working in an environment where we always challenge the status quo

- Able to manage sensitive information with discretion, acting diplomatic and tactful when dealing with delicate situations
