Position Overview
Calian is proactively seeking Clinical Specialist Instructors in various disciplines to help support the design, development and delivery of Canadian Forces Health Services Group Training and Education programs.
Areas of expertise include : medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, physiotherapy, health administration, occupational medicine, aviation physiology, health related science and technology and nursing.
These positions are located in Toronto, Valcartier, Borden, Petawawa and Edmonton.
Responsibilities
- Instruct Clinical Specialty T&E Programs
- Develop lesson plans
- Prepare classing, equipment, job aids and learning tools for instruction
- Set up / break down of training requirements such as dismantling equipment, and classrooms
- Counsel and provide remedial Training and Education to students who are experiencing academic difficulties
- Assess students
- Advise on student performance
- Maintain student files and feedback notes
- Advise on the quality and efficiency of the instruction
Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree OR post graduate diploma / certificate from a recognized Canadian University or College or from an equivalent in the following occupations : Health Service Management Officer, Nursing Officer, Pharmacy Officer, Medical Officer, Bio Science Officer, Physiotherapy Officer, Dental Officer, Dental Technician, Physician Assistant
- Must have completed a minimum of sixty training days within the last three years in instructing in military health services in the following occupations : Medical Technician, Medical Assistant Technician, Dental Technician, Physician Assistant, Preventive Medical Technician, Health Service Management Officer, Nursing Officer, Pharmacy Officer, Medical Officer, Bio Science Officer, Physiotherapy Officer, Dental Officer
- Must hold a valid professional license in good standing with respective governing body for the following occupations : Nursing Officer, Pharmacy Officer, Medical Officer, Physiotherapy Officer, Dental Officer, Dental Technician, Physician Technician
- Must have one year experience within the last five years operating training simulators in any of the following fields : Aerospace Medicine, Hyperbaric Medicine, General Medical Simulation, General Military Simulation
Additional Requirements
- Bilingual in both Official languages preferred
- You must have the ability to work onsite, as public transportation may not always be available
- You must be a Canadian Citizen
- You must be able to obtain a Government Security Clearance at the Secret level
