COORDINATOR, SECURITY AND CRUISE OPERATIONS
Ceres Terminals Canada (now known as SSA Marine Canada) is the terminal manager for Canada’s largest cruise port at Canada Place and provides stevedoring services for RoRo ships.

The Coordinator, Security & Cruise Operations is responsible for planning and executing the operational plan that facilitates the movement of over 1.
2 million passengers and over 300 cruise vessels in one of the top cruise ports in the world. Reporting to the Manager, Security and Terminal Logistics, the Coordinator plays a lead role in managing the overall cruise, security and facility operations as well as managing issues and incidents.
Additionally, the Coordinator develops security programs and operational plans that support the operation of a world-class cruise terminal building.

Your varied day will include :
- Monitoring the cruise terminal operations including security, cruise and ground transportation and troubleshooting any immediate concerns / issues that arise in a timely manner and in compliance with Ceres Security and Operations Plan, policies, and procedures.
- Developing and conducting security audits and drills as required and recording and submit those as required.
- Preparing and reviewing all incidents and access reports ensuring that all reports have been provided and are accurate and detailed.
Submit reports to Transport Canada or others as required.
Managing the requirements, quality, and production levels of the contract service providers, ensuring their compliance with the Attorney General Department's licensing regulations, WorkSafe B.
C. regulations, and the Ceres Contract.
- Issuance and maintenance of Terminal equipment and operating supplies.
- Completing and maintain Declarations of Security (DOS) as required by Transport Canada Regulations.
- Overseeing and managing the ground transportation requirements by coordinating and assisting the ground transportation providers and ground transportation desk along with managing the Traffic Attendant program.
- Developing and delivering seasonal training including, operations and security awareness to all personnel who work in the facility and track completion of that training.
- Participating in stakeholder meetings as required including :
- Liaising with appropriate operational / regulatory companies in the development of operational plans and procedures.
- Maintaining the information contained on the Cruise Portal including posting information relevant to day-to-day operations i.
e., independent numbers, meeting minutes, last-minute updates to vessel arrival and departure times, road closures affecting the cruise terminal etc.).
- Participating as a response personnel during irregular or emergency operations.
- Participating in the health and safety committee.
- Developing and updating cruise and security operational manuals and plans.
- Performing other duties and special projects as assigned by Management.
You will have :
- Experience in a security environment and with security systems preferred.
- The ability to provide leadership in coordinating operational and emergency response activities.
- Strong leadership and communication skills in directing team members and groups
- Superior organizational skills, time management and problem-resolution skills.
- Ability to manage in an industrial unionized environment and to liaise with multiple partners and stakeholders.
- Competency in MS Office suite and ability to learn other related systems.
- The ability to direct safe work practices.
- The ability to create strong stakeholder and partner relationships.
- Be able to work independently and in teams.
- Strong facilitation and presentation skills.
- Post-secondary degree in a related field preferred or equivalent experience.
- Two - five years of experience in an operational or security environment.
- Experience in project development and management.
- Thrive in an environment of constant learning.
NOTE :
The candidate selected for this position must undergo and successfully complete a security background check conducted by Transport Canada.
The ability to work a flexible schedule as this position will be required to work weekends and holidays during the cruise season.
