Continuous Improvement, Quality Assurance Specialist

CKF Inc. has eight manufacturing facilities located in North America with a total workforce in excess of 900 employees. Our operations produce foam, plastic and molded pulp products in the areas of retail, foodservice, produce, and protective packaging industries.

We are actively seeking a highly motivated individual with a background in mechanical or chemical engineering to join our team on a one-year contract basis, with the potential for program extension based on performance and organizational needs.

In this dynamic role, the selected candidate will be responsible for three key projects : Quality Assurance of Extruded Sheets, Raw Material Testing using state-of-the-art lab equipment, and assistance in internal audits to ensure compliance with GFSI standards.

Key Responsibilities :

Project 1 : Quality Assurance of Extruded Sheets

  • Implement quality assurance protocols to enhance the overall product quality.
  • Perform meticulous quality inspections on extruded sheets, identifying deviations from established standards.
  • Lead the quality assurance processes for extruded sheets, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Conduct thorough inspections, data analysis, and implement improvements to enhance product quality.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to conduct tests and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Project 2 : Raw Material Testing using State-of-the-Art Lab Equipment

  • Utilize state-of-the-art lab equipment to conduct comprehensive testing of raw materials.
  • Collaborate with the engineering and procurement teams to ensure raw material quality meets specified standards.
  • Evaluate test results against material specifications to verify conformity with quality standards and specifications, and subsequently, generate comprehensive reports

Project 3 : Internal Audit and GFSI Standards Compliance

  • Assist the quality team in conducting internal audits to verify adherence to established quality criteria.
  • Take a lead role in internal audit processes to ensure compliance with GFSI standards and contribute to the continuous improvement of quality processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address identified non-conformities and implement corrective actions.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of processes to meet and exceed GFSI standards.

Training and Knowledge Transfer

  • Undergo comprehensive training to understand project-specific procedures and standards.
  • Implement learned procedures, master them, and actively participate in knowledge transfer sessions.
  • Train other team members on project-specific procedures and best practices.

Project Collaboration :

  • Engage in collaborative efforts within the organization, gaining exposure to different aspects of engineering and manufacturing.
  • Take a proactive role in project planning, execution, and evaluation to ensure project success.

Qualifications :

  • Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
  • Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with material characterization equipment and testing methodologies.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance processes in manufacturing settings.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Eagerness to learn, adapt, and contribute in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Duration :

This position is offered as 12 months contract with the potential for renewal based on performance and organizational needs.
