The Opportunity :
Red River Co-op is recruiting for the position of Baker at our St. Vital Food Store located at 850 Dakota Street in Winnipeg, Manitoba .
This position reports to the Bakery Manager. The Baker adds value to our Co-operative by delivering world-class customer service;
preparing dough and mixes and producing baked goods; and maintaining department cleanliness and housekeeping standards.
Essential responsibilities of the position include the following :
- Utilize established Co-op recipes and procedures to measure and mix ingredients to form dough or batter.
- Roll, cut, and shape dough to form rolls, pastry, cookies, and related products.
- Place dough in pans, molds, or on sheets and bake in oven. Observe products while cooking and adjust controls.
- Check production schedule to determine variety and quantity of goods to bake.
About You :
To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies :
- Experience baking products from scratch in a high-volume commercial bakery setting
- Must be capable of lifting up to 50lbs
- Willingness to start work as early as 4 am, including weekends.
- Availability to work 24-32 hours per week.
