Food Store Manager

Reporting to the General Manager, the Foodstore Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting the General Manager in the general operations of the Foodstore and the Gas Bar.
- You’ll be responsible for the overall operations of the Food Store Departments.
- You’ll be responsible for providing strategic direction to Food Store Team Leaders and Members to ensure safe, effective operations and processes.
- Work collaboratively with the General Manager and Department Managers to determine current and future capabilities required for effective execution
Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Foodstore, while ensuring compliance with all company policies, procedures, and safety standards;
- Provide strong leadership, guidance, coaching, and support to department managers and their teams to ensure a positive and productive work environment;
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability and continuous improvement among staff members;
- Provide support to department managers in managing the resources of the Co-operative effectively to generate net savings that meet and exceed budgeted targets;
- Provide leadership and direction to departments to ensure that they are achieving financial targets in sales, margins, expenses, and profits;
- Support the General Manager in achieving the financial goals of the Foodstore and Gas Bar;
- Assist departments in adhering to their designated margins and ensure that they are managing them effectively.
- Support and coach managers on the proper management of merchandise;
- Ensure all merchandising meets the quality standards of the Co-operative;
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, the Collective Agreement and operational regulatory requirements, including food safety standards, sanitation guidelines, inventory management;
- Oversee and provide day-to-day management of department managers;
- Provide leadership in the area of employee relations, hiring, training and development; and
- Maintain a positive work environment with strong morale.
