Position Description :

Under the direction of the Executive Director and in line with the Indigenous Women’s Healing Centre’s mission and vision, the incumbent is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Lodge. This includes policy and program development, staffing, facility management, resident intake and discharge procedures, compliance with Section 81 terms and objectives, and adherence to all Correction Services Canada standards and regulations. The operations manager must also ensure that all statistical data and reports are prepared and available as required.

Qualifications Required :

• Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) or a related professional degree in social service / management, with at least two years’ experience, preferably in Criminal and / or Alternative Justice. The organization reserves the right to consider any combination of work and life experience deemed acceptable.
• Previous management and staff supervision experience.
• Ability to motivate and support a diverse staff.
• Experience supervising in a unionized environment is an asset.
• Experience in program development.
• Experience in producing and presenting program reports and statistics.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to handle stressful situations effectively and de-escalate when necessary.
• Knowledge of Indigenous culture and traditions is an asset.
• Fluency in an Indigenous language or dialect is an asset.
• Ability to demonstrate cultural competence and respect for diversity.
• CPR / First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it.
• Must pass a Child Abuse Registry check and obtain Enhanced Security Clearance.
• A Class 5 Manitoba Driver's License and access to a vehicle are required.
