About the role
Reporting to an experienced Project Manager, who will nurture and support you to be the best you can be, we are seeking a motivated Assistant Project Manager who is eager to grow their career in construction project management.
The role will support management of one of our current largest builds along several smaller sites, where you will have the opportunity to run the project.
Being out there amongst the action onsite at the heart of the construction is key for a successful project and your growth and would be 60% site based and 40% office based.
Key Responsibilities will include :
- Ensuring the delivery and handover of projects on time, on budget and at a high quality.
- Assist with tender collation and contract preparation.
- Contract administration including attending and minuting meetings, following up RFIs meeting actions, and managing purchaser requested variations.
- Liaising with a range of internal and external project stakeholders including village operations teams, Council, and neighbours.
- Collation and execution of forms of contract i.e. NZS 3910 / 3915
- Manage project completion and handover process, including compilation of handover manuals and defecting process
About you
This is an impressive opportunity to move your career forward in construction project management. We are looking for a person who is ready to step into a Senior APM role shortly, so along with your Construction Qualification and with 2-3 years of experience, your passion, diligence, drive and ambition will be well rewarded by having the opportunity to work with the best PM's in the business and learn at pace!
Ideally you will have had exposure to the following :
- Working in project teams and experience with project management systems and administering project meetings (setting agendas, minuting, follow-up)
- Exposure to design and construction management, handover and defect resolution experience is highly desirable
- Ability to self-manage and manage conflicting priorities and deadlines as well as managing various stakeholders
