As the Strategic Legislative Analyst, Technology you will play a key part in supporting the readiness and delivery of the 2025 General Election.
This work will include change management, project management, and planning high quality, innovative service delivery strategies.
Primary Duties include :
- Assist in the planning, implementation, training, execution, and support of using an electors register and live strike-off for the 2025 General Election.
- Work with internal and external technology partners to ensure the proper setup, installation, and security of all voting station technology solutions.
- Become a SME for voting station technology solutions to help with the development of training material, provide technical assistance, and develop technology-focused contingency plans.
- Lead projects and project teams using best practice project management methodologies.
- Identify service and process gaps and lead process reviews, innovation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide supervision and / or direction to partners, employees, and contract service providers.
- Ensure compliance with legislation and corporate policies and procedures.
- Provide leadership with project status updates, identify issues, and propose solutions.
Qualifications
- A degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Economics, Law, Geography or a related discipline with at least 2 years of experience in research, data analysis, consultation, project management and report writing.
- Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered.
- Experience working in local government and election operations considered an asset.
- Experience in implementing large scale technology solutions considered an asset.
- Self-directed with the ability to work independently and effectively lead multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
- Experience interpreting and applying relevant legislation (such as the Municipal Government Act and Local Authorities Election Act) will be considered an asset.
- Success in this position requires strong communication skills, adaptability, the ability to build partnerships, facilitate change, and a high attention to detail and stress tolerance.
