Location : Various locations across Alberta
As aSenior Building Inspector / Lead Building Inspector, you will oversee and leadinspection activities to ensure that construction projects comply with localbuilding codes, safety regulations, and zoning laws. Your role will be vital inmaintaining high standards for construction quality and safety within thejurisdiction.
KeyResponsibilities :
Lead and supervise a team of building inspectors, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure effective and accurate inspections.
Conduct thorough inspections of complex and high-profile construction projects, verifying adherence to building codes, safety standards, and approved plans.
Review and approve building plans and specifications, ensuring they meet all required regulations and standards.
Resolve complex inspection issues and address significant code violations, working closely with contractors, architects, and engineers.
Prepare and review detailed inspection reports, documentation, and compliance records for accuracy and completeness.
Coordinate with other municipal departments and agencies to facilitate inspections and address any cross-departmental issues.
Stay current with changes in building codes, regulations, and industry best practices, and incorporate this knowledge into inspection practices and team training.
Act as a liaison between the public,construction professionals, and municipal officials to address concerns andprovide expert advice on building-related matters
