The Opportunity :

Valnet is seeking a skilled Senior System Engineer with experience running high-traffic websites. Your daily responsibilities are to maintain, develop, optimize, and secure our infrastructure to ensure a great experience for our readers and internal teams alike. You will oversee handling daily backups of all company assets and to stay on top of the latest vulnerabilities and other relevant advances in tech. To be successful in this role, you must be comfortable working on the command line via SSH and tailing server logs to find the root of the problem.

What you will be doing :

You will work closely with our Dev team to facilitate code deployment and data transfer between environments. You will also oversee new and innovative ways to automate common tasks through scripting and / or coding, which should come naturally to you. Daily, you will Monitor a network of 30+ websites, ready to jump in and minimize downtime.

• AWS EC2 / RDS Aurora
• Amazon Linux
• NGINX (HTTP load balancing / Proxy / Caching)
• DDoS mitigation
• PHP (Symfony)
• Redis
• DNS management
