WeAre WSP
What you can expect to do here :
- Advise on regulatory compliance matters related to public reporting and monitor peer practices and regulatory changes that may impact the company's global public reporting, policies and governance practices.
- Support the enhancement of the company's ESG-related public reporting maturity by implementing processes and practices that will enhance future reporting practices and assist in preparing for emerging regulatory requirements.
- Participate in the review of submissions to ESG ratings and rankings.
- Assist with general corporate matters including internal re-organizations.
- Assist with M&A and corporate financing-related matters, when required.
- Provide guidance to the operations in connection with disclosure services.
What you'll bring to WSP :
- Law degree from an accredited law school and license to practice law in Quebec.
- 2 to 5 years of experience in corporate, securities law and commercial law, including experience advising public companies on their corporate disclosures in private practice for a large law firm.
European legal expertise is a plus.
- Strong interest in corporate disclosure and reporting and ESG compliance matters.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
- Good negotiation and drafting skills along with attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Proficient in legal tech and comfortable and unafraid of leveraging the latest legal technologies and tools to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and data management.
Demonstrated ability to adapt to new software and platforms.
Proficiency in French and English, both spoken and written, with any additional languages being a bonus
