The Line Manager role is fundamentally responsible for having designated filling lines to achieve safety, quality, cost, delivery, morale, and sustainability targets.

Line Manager will be overseeing the filling lines and working together with the core team to drive the safety culture while ensuring high quality products are delivered at the right cost.

In that regard, Line Managers are visionary, strategic thinkers with leadership, interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Line Manager role is a compelling position that allows an individual to lead, influence and build the capabilities of a diverse group of Associate Managers and the core team while delivering the key business results.

This role will be based out of our Eastside Facility in Etobicoke. The hours of work will be 7 : 30 AM to 3 : 30 PM.

WHAT YOU’D BE DOING IN THIS ROLE

Responsible for the safety, quality, cost, delivery, morale, and sustainability results of his / her assigned line(s) and team members.

Demonstrate leadership to the core team to drive safety culture within the organization.

  • Ensure the team follows all the quality control protocols while achieving the delivery targets. Develop, coach, mentor and build capability of the front-line Associate Managers.
  • Develop and manage the budget of the assigned line(s). Work closely with the Process Engineer to identify, prioritize, and eradicate the losses for the assigned line(s) and optimize the processes.
  • Own the daily direction setting (DDS) process throughout the day across the shifts and lead the recruitment, on-boarding, training, development, and succession planning processes for his / her team.
  • Lead the implementation of the work processes to their assigned line(s) and drive the reliability of the processes and continuous improvement of the operations.

Set individual objectives to the line team members and monitor to ensure the overall targets are met.

  • Drive the Total Productive Maintenance and Six Sigma initiatives for his / her assigned line(s). Lead the implementation and execution of AM (Autonomous Maintenance) to maintain the base condition of the equipment on the line(s).
  • Work closely with the Maintenance Team to ensure PM (Preventative Maintenance) for the equipment on the line(s) is scheduled and executed in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with the supporting functions to ensure that the line targets are met.
  • Drive the team to ensure the productivity projects are explored and delivered.
  • Lead the collaboration between Engineering and Line Team for meeting the success criteria during the CQV (commissioning, qualification, and verification) period of the new unit(s).

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE

Demonstrated strong leadership and interpersonal skills to nurture, grow and guide a relatively new team and teach them best operations practices to improve the process reliability.

Track record of inspiring teams to take ownership of their environments and the results they produce.

  • Proven analytical, problem solving, problem management, and conceptual skills, including the ability to make practical business decisions from assessing large amounts of data.
  • Dedication to continuous improvement, Knowledge of Lean, Total Productive Maintenance and Six Sigma principles and experience in managing a diverse team in different cultures and providing outstanding mentorship, and development.
  • Experience working with ERP, WMS, and MES, with a demonstrated use of data from these systems to measure and drive the business results.

Microsoft D365 Finance & Operations ERP experience is an asset.

Knowledge of process automation equipment related to cosmetics, personal care, or pharmaceutical industries is an asset.

Relevant education (Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering) OR equivalent work experience in a progressive Manufacturing career management.

Ability to travel up to 10%
