Your new role
As an Insurance Defence Associate, you will be an integral part of the litigation team. This role offers a vibrant work environment and significant opportunities for professional growth.
Your responsibilities will include :
- Drafting and reviewing legal documents
- Managing all facets of litigated cases with oversight from senior lawyers.
- Initially conducting examinations for discovery, mediations, and motions.
- Assisting senior counsel on complex and detailed cases.
- Providing practice and client guidance and maintaining client contact.
- Engaging in business development and enhancing professional profiles.
- Achieving both billable and non-billable targets.
What you'll need to succeed
- Legally entitled to practice law in Canada
- Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
- At least 1-3+ years of insurance defence experience
- Excellent English oral and written skills and communication ability
- Good organization and teamwork skills and professional communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and ensure a busy practice alongside Legal Assistants and Paralegals
