Reporting to the both the Operations Supervisor and General Foremen, as a Journeyman Lineman, you will :
Hold a Red Seal certificate (or equivalent)
Perform live line work on overhead and underground electrical distribution lines
Ensure safety is adhered to at all times
Valid Class "D" driver's license with "Z" endorsement
Construction, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of the electrical distribution system, including overhead and underground of various voltages (up to and including 27.6 kV)
Erect poles, and associated structures for power lines
Build, repair and operate underground cables / equipment
Understand and operate motorized vehicles and equipment; boom trucks
Install conductors and associated apparatus
Compliance and sign off to the construction verification program. ESA 22 : 04
CVOR checks / logs; track jobs hours for CVOR
Work within compliance of the utility work protection code
Mentor and / or train Apprentices
Identify opportunities to improve business processes and advise supervisor of risks within business processes
Active participation in training, daily job planning, tailboard discussions, safety meeting and other safety initiatives
Proficient in the use of all tools and equipment associated with the trade
Able to work from work orders, specifications, standards and instructions and to interpret prints, sketches and diagrams
Strong communicator, excellent interpersonal and customer relations skills
A level of physical fitness essential to do the work including the ability to climb and work confidently at heights; and the willingness and ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions
