Job Description
The Senior Analyst will join the Financial Planning & Analysis and Investor Relations team within Brookfield’s Private Equity group and will primarily assist with the quarterly and valuation process for all private equity assets.
It is a highly visible position that presents the foundation, guidance and exposure towards a successful and challenging career in finance.
Reporting to the Vice President, Finance, the candidate will also assist with understanding and communicating operational performance of the group’s global private equity portfolio.
In addition, this role will provide assistance to the private funds and financial planning and reporting teams. They will be involved in a number of tasks, including but not limited to : subsidiary forecasting, treasury and liquidity forecasting, compliance, and various ad-hoc analyses.
Responsibilities :
- Assist with quarterly and annual valuation process for all private equity assets, including compilation of a quarterly valuation deck;
- Liaising with investment teams to understand the key business drivers for over 30 private equity investments and ensuring relevant and appropriate assumptions are captured in models;
- Interacting with investment professionals to understand market-based comparable transactions;
- Maintaining and updating standard valuation templates and process documentation as required;
- Working across multiple finance functions and regions to ensure alignment of information and reporting;
- Prepare consolidated financial forecasts, track operating results of subsidiaries spanning multiple segments and geographies and articulate findings to key stakeholders;
- Communicate and work directly with key management personnel at subsidiaries to assist in completing forecasts;
- Prepare consolidated liquidity forecasts and various treasury deliverables to assist with liquidity planning and capital allocation / structure;
- Compile, analyze and evaluate key operating metrics across businesses and operating segments;
- Assist in preparation of various analyses and reports for senior management and the board of directors to support business decision making;
- Supporting private funds and public investor relations with investor queries;
Ad-hoc analyses and presentations on platform financial and operational results, as well as supporting any special projects
Requirements :
- Recognized professional accounting designation (CPA preferred), CFA or CBV designation would be considered an asset;
- Minimum three to five (3-5) years of work experience in an accounting or finance function, with a track record of high performance;
- Valuations, Advisory or Corporate Finance experience at the Big Four or FP&A / Finance at a leading organization would be an asset;
- Very proficient in Excel, including ability to model and use advanced functions, and understanding of discounted cash flow financial models;
- Demonstrated leadership ability and is a team player, willing to always support the team;
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and mentality;
- Excellent communication skills (both verbally and written);
