The Manager of Information Management will play a pivotal role in rolling out Enterprise Information Management capabilities and leading Records and Information Management strategy.

This role will work closely with other departments across the enterprise to ensure data governance and information management standards and best practices are being applied consistently across the organization, particularly as it relates to information management.

The Manager of Information Management leads the development and implementation of OMERS Records and Information Management program, including making contributions that raise the profile and understanding of Program principles and best practices across the organization.

As a member of this team, you will be responsible for the following :

Policy and standard adoption - Operationalization of the Enterprise Data Governance & Records Management Policy and standards by ensuring that all lines of business are following the applicable standards.

Implementing Records and Information Management Strategy - Rolling out Enterprise Information Management capabilities across the enterprise such as (not limited to) :

Microsoft 365 Data Retention and Disposition

Legacy Platforms Data Retention and Disposition

Contributing to the development of appropriate materials and conducting training sessions related to Information Management best practices and technologies.

Strategic Thinking - Understanding OMERS business functions, activities, and transactions, as well as standard information and data governance best practices to contribute practical solutions for both structured and unstructured data in the development and implementation of the Information Management Program

Working with business and other Data and Technology stakeholders to develop industry-informed strategies, standards and practices related to enterprise records management and information governance.

Guide the strategic direction for Records for the enterprise.

Build and contribute to, Enterprise Records and Information Management long-term strategic goals. This entails working with technology and data partners to remediate enterprise electronic record deficiencies for structured and unstructured data and historical repositories.

Building Cross-functional Partnership - Build the network of business SMEs who will collaborate with you on ensuring records compliance across the organization.

This role works very closely with LOB partners to help guide them on interpreting and implementing records management practice;

help ensure compliance with quarterly testing, preservation hold requirements, and conduct training as required.

Relationship building - Build relationships with a wide range of internal employees, teams, and departments, including executives across Data & Technology, HR, Pensions, Internal Audit, and other areas of Risk, Compliance and Legal.

Consultation and Advisory - Subject matter expert (SME) for consultation on records management across the enterprise. As the SME, you will attend project / steering meetings, provide guidance on new initiatives, and manage deficiencies as required.

Lead the team in providing guidance on the documentation and design of an effective oversight control structure in accordance with current governance, risk, and compliance requirements, including Regulatory Compliance Management (RCM) and Operational Process Control (OPC) streams.

To succeed in this role, you have :

Degree or diploma in Information Technology Management.

Minimum 8-10 years of experience in financial services, government and / or pensions industry

5-7 years of experience in developing data governance frameworks, leading records and information management and implementing them across the organization

Proven experience of leading implementation of records / data retention, disposition, legal holds, archival preservation, content management systems and information governance standards and best practices.

Experience leading projects for automating or enhancing records and data management processes using technology is an asset.

Experience with the Records related regulatory environment; sufficient to assess and recommend changes to risk and compliance practices related to the Enterprise’ policies and governance programs.

Experience defining strategies for data classification and record retention.

Effective written, oral, interpersonal and relationship building skills, particularly with internal stakeholders.

Strong project and time management skills
