The Opportunity :

If you are an Intermediate Electrical Engineer WSP is looking for you! This is a rare opportunity to join the iconic Centre Block Rehabilitation Project.

This position can be located in Ottawa, Edmonton, Saskatoon, or GTA. You will be a team player in an evolving team, responsible for developing the design of electrical building systems through to completion of the design packages.

What you can expect to do here :

  • Design leading-edge engineering solutions for the various electrical and electronic building systems, including low voltage power distribution (including emergency power and UPS), lightning protection and grounding, fire detection and voice alarm, public address, passive telecommunications and security systems infrastructure, lighting and lighting controls systems, and external underground services infrastructure.
  • Develop technical drawings and specifications.
  • Collaborate in a multi-disciplinary work environment with architects, and engineers, as well as electrical and mechanical trade contractors to arrive at integrated design solutions which are fully constructable.

What you'll bring to WSP :

  • Licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario.
  • Minimum of 5 years electrical engineering and design experience on major complex building projects - experience with large scale, heritage designated projects a distinct advantage.
  • Experience working in different delivery models - i.e. CM, Design Build, P3 - is required.
  • Must have excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with a strong desire and ability to collaborate and problem solve in an integrated team environment.
  • Possess detailed working knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code, Ontario Electrical Safety Code, National Building Code of Canada and the Ontario Building Code.
  • Detailed understanding of LEED v4.0 and ASHRAE standards.
  • Must possess detailed working knowledge of CAN / ULC Standards for Life Safety Systems.
  • Must have an advanced understanding of quality standards relative to electrical design and planning, engineering fundamentals and principles.
  • Must be proficient in REVIT MEP 3D modelling.
  • Must be proficient in MS Office Applications.

To qualify for this role, you must be eligible for Canadian Federal Government Enhanced Reliability clearance. This is a mandatory requirement to work with this client.
