Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country.

The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role;

the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What Is the Opportunity?

Within the Product team at Travelers, you will have the opportunity to regularly engage in unique and intellectually stimulating business problems.

As a Sr Analyst, Product Management, you will manage the growth and profitability for a province(s), product, or line of business.

You will analyze complex business problems and propose fact-based solutions with consideration of internal and external trends to achieve business objectives.

By collaborating with partners across the organization you will ensure strategic direction and alignment for successful execution.

What Will You Do?

Independently conduct and understand data analysis of business results including product refreshes, performance expectations and identifying root cause.

Formulate and execute potential recommendations to drive desired growth and profitability impacts based on established strategy with consideration for local regulatory nuances, and broader marketplace dynamics.

Present, inform and influence recommendations to business partners including proposed product / pricing changes or new product builds.

May function as a subject matter expert in strategic initiatives to support the goals and objectives of the broader organization.

May coach and mentor on specific projects.

Perform other duties as assigned.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

Bachelor’s degree in Business Management / Administration, Mathematics, Finance, Actuarial Science, Economics, or other analytics related field.

Three years’ experience working in a mathematical, analytical, or data related role preferably in the financial services industry.

Experience with competitive analysis tools.

Strategic thinker with the ability to use sound judgment to resolve issues as they arise.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to consult and present information effectively.

Strong data analysis skills with the ability to interpret trends and provide insights and recommendations to business partners.

Knowledge of pricing and actuarial techniques and understanding of actuarial concepts such as loss development and trending.

Understand ratemaking and its application, such as profitability, risk loads, etc.

Understand the workflow and terminology of insurance products and processes and their impact on profit and loss.

What is a Must Have?

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Two years of experience in data analytics or similar work experience.
