Your Role

In this role, you will be accountable for driving growth and profitability in alignment with the National International Supply Chain Strategies, leading business development activities across three regions.

Your focus will be on successfully onboarding new clients and expanding existing accounts while developing and implementing processes to optimize the efficiency of the Business Development team across various sales channels, including Key Account Management and Business Unit Sales.

You will create a proactive target list to enhance pipeline throughput and hit ratios, fostering collaboration by sharing best practices in solution design and value creation with the Global International Supply Chain team.

Additionally, you will represent the country and our customers, providing insights on future service needs to exceed expectations and ensure Kuehne + Nagel is recognized as the preferred partner.

You will also contribute to a positive working environment for International Supply Chain colleagues, emphasizing career development, succession planning, and making Kuehne + Nagel an employer of choice.

Your Responsibilities

  • Drive business development initiatives and enhance customer retention across Canada.
  • Align targets and success metrics for International Supply Chain Business Development within the country.
  • Collaborate with the Kuehne + Nagel Sales network to identify, qualify, prioritize, support, and win new client opportunities.
  • Partner with key stakeholders, including Engineering, Implementation, and Service Delivery teams, to ensure successful client onboarding.
  • Assist with Request for Quotation responses for assigned strategic customers.
  • Support new service development opportunities by providing feedback to the global International Supply Chain team.
  • Act as the International Supply Chain sponsor for new business awards to ensure the realization of sold solutions.
  • Ensure International Supply Chain clients receive clear value propositions.
  • Centralize and share best practices across the organization.
  • Support the rollout and education of International Supply Chain product offerings for Operations Management and Strategic Transportation Management.

Your Skills and Experiences

Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Supply Chain Management or a related field, along with professional certification in Freight Forwarding;

MBA or equivalent preferred.

  • At least 5 years of experience in Sea Logistics within a Business Unit / Functional Unit of International Supply Chain, including 1 year in project management and 1 year in leadership roles, with a strong focus on customer management.
  • Proven expertise in strategy planning and execution, product / service development and management, supply chain management, and customer service excellence, complemented by excellent analytical, communication, networking, and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional influencing and relationship management skills, with the ability to engage and promote collaboration among relevant teams and effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
